Quesnell Crescent is a house we restored over the course of a year, touching everything from the foundation to the electrical and plumbing. It is our most extensive and complicated renovation yet, but also one of the most spectacular as the house sits on a half acres in a desirable River Valley neighbourhood and features incredible mid-century details and even a pool!
Cottage K is the name we gave a small 1950's bungalow we renovated and sold in the Fall of 2013 in a highly desirable central downtown neighbourhood. It was a full kitchen and bathroom reno and we restored as much of the original charm as we could salvage, while adding an eclectic, unique mixture of furnishings to appeal to a wide range of potential buyers. To date it is one of our favourite and least expensive renovations!
The Laurier project was one of our most complicated as we opened up most of the central living spaces and converted multiple rooms into a master suite. It was also our first project where we finished all living spaces, even the basement, which covered 4 levels! The outside was a large part of the transformation and while we didn't stray far from the original look and feel of the home it brought it up to date and appealing to families looking for a fully updated home in a great neighbourhood. It is also one of my favourites in that we shot our show's sizzle reel here and I credit this house for getting us on the road to Big Easy Reno!
Home Sweet Home
Welcome to our little corner of the world! This is our second home, which we purchased to renovate to our tastes after living in a brand new builder basic house for a couple of years. We yearned to customize a home, but being young and broke, we had to learn how to do it all ourselves. It has slowly evolved over time as we saved money and made progress, and is a reflection of our personalities: fun, simple and a little bit 'out there'.
